EDWARD POLLARD, ESQ.

Edward is a Houston City Council Member and native Houstonian who attended public school within the Houston Independent School District, K-12. Upon receiving his diploma from Lamar High School he attended Morehouse College in Atlanta, GA on a basketball scholarship. While at Morehouse he earned the distinction of NCAA Academic All-American. He would go on to graduate with honors earning his BA in Political Science with a concentration in Pre-Law. After completing his undergraduate studies, Edward played professional basketball overseas in the Republic of Singapore and Chile, South America. In pursuit of his life long goal to become an attorney, he returned to Houston to attend Thurgood Marshall School of Law. In 2012, Edward graduated with honors earning his Doctorate of Jurisprudence with a certificate in Government and Policy. Edward also attained his Certificate in Negotiation Mastery from Harvard Business School.

Professionally, Edward the principal owner of Pollard Legal Group, LLC, where his primary focus area is personal injury and business litigation. In 2019, Edward was elected to Houston City Council to represent District J, which covers southwest Houston, and is known as the most diverse area in the entire country with a constituency of nearly 200,000 people.

Although Edward is active in a myriad of civic and community endeavors, he believes the most rewarding work in his professional life has been with Suits for Success. He considers it to be a true blessing to serve as vessel in developing teenage boys into productive adult men. Edward is passionate about mentoring the youth and assisting them in achieving their dreams. He is convinced that with a commitment to education and a strong support system a person can achieve anything. Edward wants to instill guidance, structure, discipline, and responsibility in all Suits for Success students so they can go out and make their mark on the world…and look good doing it!
